Diethyl malonate is an intermediate in organic synthesis. Widely used in the production of dyes, fragrances, sulfonylurea herbicides, etc. Diethyl propionate is mainly used in the production of diethyl ethoxymethylene malonate, barbituric acid, and alkyl propionate. Further synthesis of medicines (such as norfloxacin, romefloxacin, chlorhexidine, phenylbutazone, etc.) and dyes and pigments (such as benzimidazolone organic pigments).
Isooctanoic acid
The English name of isooctanoic acid is iisooctanoic acid, CAS No. 149-57-5. It is a colorless and slightly odorous liquid at room temperature, and it is flammable and crooked.
In terms of solubility, isooctanoic acid is slightly soluble in cold water and ethanol, soluble in hot water, ether, ethyl acetate, acetic acid, acetone, benzene and chloroform. At 20°C, 0.25% (mass fraction) is dissolved in water, and 1.2% (mass fraction) is dissolved in 2-ethylhexanoic acid (isooctanoic acid).
Isooctanoic acid is used to prepare various esters, organic esters are used as plasticizers and pharmaceutical raw materials, and are also used in cosmetic base materials, preservatives, fragrances and lubricants. Its inorganic salts are about 15 kinds, such as zirconium, diamond, molybdenum and zinc salts are used as driers for varnishes and coatings and inks, and also as stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride; tin salts are used as additives for plastic pipes; barium salts and Cadmium salts are used as additives in plastic products.
